It’s been a month and a half since I left the lush jungles, warm beaches, sacred temples, delicious vegan foods and beautiful people of Bali. The transition has been a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences. From trying to assimilate to this fast paced environment of working and social life, to finding ways to keep the momentum on my practice and spiritual development, to creating opportunities to grow as a space holder.
In the time I’ve been back in the Stares, I held my first private lesson with a close friend. This has been helping me get more comfortable with my voice as a space holder and my guiding style. My dear friend is rapidly growing in his own practice, which humbles me and keeps me grateful to be able to serve him in such manner.
The first small group session was held at a local park this past Saturday with a few coworkers. That was a great transition into bigger spaces and I know my friends enjoyed it as much as I did! Nature is definitely one of my favorite spaces to practice, and be.
Having spent the past month and a half in a completely different setting, however, has been quite reflective, to say the least. Anyone who has gone away for some period of time can relate to the feeling of assimilating back into society, or whatever form of it they left before departing. One think I’m starting to realize more everyday is that I don’t necessarily want to “integrate back” into the community I left. Don’t get me wrong, of course I want to be a part of it! But I also want to see my community grow and evolve. My soul doesn’t feel the need to conform to the way I (and my community) was before my trip. In part, I truly believe that’s why I’m still where I am and why the Universe has kept me in the city I’m living in. To practice the lessons I learned when I was abroad and assist in the current efforts of uplifting, uniting and carrying forward this precious community.
Well, Universe, I heard you! It has been a very eventful week for me and new projects are on the way. Stay tuned as I will be posting exciting news about these soon!
Shine on!
Claudia
