This past May, on my birthday to be exact, I had a meeting that turned out to be one of the best birthday present I could’ve ever received. This meeting was with the artist and owner of JAMA Art Studio in Naples, FL. JAMA, a world renowned artist and philanthropist, had a vision for our community that coincided with mine. To build a vibrant community in his studio for young individuals driven to unite and create something exceptional for their community. This space would be composed of art, music, and spiritual endeavors.
I am a strong believer in energies and that they align once committed and devoted. What you’re seeking is seeking you. With this vision in mind, he told a mutual friend about his ideas and that friend made a comment about my recent Bali experience. We got a hold of each other and the connection was instant! A week and a half later I was holding my first yoga class, or “light & bliss Yoga Sessions,” in his studio, with plans for more exciting creative projects.
The concept for these yoga classes are truly unique. The space isn’t just a gallery displaying his paintings. It is also a working art studio. We have a completely white space with big panoramic windows, complemented with nature’s green beauty and walls decorated exclusively with his art. The energy in this studio induces calmness and harbors creativity to another level. This space attracts good vibes and that’s exactly what we’re hoping to give away as well.
Ever since the launch, the project has been a journey. With every journey comes growing moments and learning lessons. I continue learning about holding space and bettering my practice, working with others, being vulnerable, my personal path, and how to stay curious so that I never stop learning. The biggest lessons I’ve encountered are related to being detached and humbling down. The moment always is exactly what it needs to be. Be thankful, enbrace it, learn from it, and…
