I am caught in your web
where all my senses come to be.
Abasing me further into the illusion of your reality,
you share recycled love poems about the world and me.
Blurring my vision with the shiny seat of royalty,
you immerse me in your make-believe righteousness and piety.
You underestimated the vigor of my spirit, though.
Or maybe you knew it all along
and that's why you tried so hard,
hoping it wouldn't live on.
But now that I have known Truth,
With the fire in my heart,
I rise from nothingness.
I burn away all the veils
you skillfully crafted.
Your deceptive artistry
so seemingly beautiful,
captivating even the wisest.
Your melodies sound sweet as honey at first.
Slowly you feed me bitter tastes of silver and gold,
and I become entranced by each of your words.
As I find out about your poisonous curse,
It's too late and I've lost myself too much.
I can't tell honey from dirt anymore.
But then I heard a Voice,
"If you are attentive enough,
you will see there is something off."
That's when the weight started getting too heavy.
The strings of your web snapped
and now I'm on the floor.
I find myself without your honey,
and all the light I thought I had is now gone.
Darkness is all I see.
"The illusion has been broken," says She.
"All that you knew sits now in front of you."
Empty and meaningless darkness.
But after hours, days, and months of wailing,
a new Truth seemed to be revealing.
A knowledge I've searched for all my life.
The same reason that got me in that web the first time.
"Now you see your Light, your Nobility,"
says the Voice with serenity.
With every moment of this Truth unfolding in front of me,
I am now able to see why this bright light was so dim.
"The illusion blurred your vision
from a Reality so magnificent.
Little did you know
that a Beauty this powerful
is too wondrous to be
beheld in this world of fantasy."
And now I find myself in a grateful state of mind
for the same darkness I had so violently cursed and denied.
I am eternally thankful
for the bounty of this Light
"As you find your way out of the dark
and back to the outer world,
notice how new life in your eyes unfurl,"
says the Voice in advice.
"Your Light is now so bright,
it reflects the same in others,
even through the layers of their veils.
Your Light is radiance.
It is imperishable and everlasting."
And before She leaves,
She adds ever so lovingly,
"As you continue on your journey,
keep burning away the veils.
When you find yourself in darkness,
be grateful and prevail.
Know that this is your Light
calling for your attention.
It is your Truth
giving you direction.
And as you walk with feet of detachment,
keep burning away the veils."
